Wondering what to wear for your photoshoot? You're not alone! What we wear to our photoshoot really does make a difference in your photos, but don't stress. Here are three easy things to consider when deciding what to wear for your next photoshoot.
Tip #1: What do you already have?
Choosing an outft for a photoshoot doesn't have to be hard. Take a peek into your closet and start from there! Resist the urge to think, "Let's buy something entirely new that I'd never wear in real life!" Of course, if you fancy something new and special for your shoot, go for it, but let it truly represent your authentic style.
If you decide on something new, consider wearing it a few times before the shoot day to get a feel for how you like it on yourself. Pay attention to how it makes you feel in various settings and when you catch a glimpse in the mirror.
The same goes for something you've always had; make sure it's a piece you genuinely love and that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Steer clear of crisp or starchy clothes that might make you feel constricted—think cozy, not overly formal. Blazers or business wear are a no-go; we're aiming for the comfy, relaxed, and fun version of you!
Tip #2: Avoid sports or athletic wear, gym clothes, or gym shoes.
If logos or branding are larger than a quarter, consider opting for something without prominent branding or words. Large logos and branding will distract from the rest of the photos, and we don't want people commenting on the brand when they look at your photo! We want them staring at you. Athletic wear often has a casual and sport aesthetic which tends to clash with the aesthetic youre trying to acheive in a family or couple session.
And one more thing: You might want to skip trendy patterns and bright neon colors as they tend to not show a timeless, classic look.
Tip #3 Coordinate, don't match outfits

Coordinated outfits creates a harmonious visual story and not only results in visually stunning photographs but also highlights the individualition of each person. When veryone is in the same pattern or colour, it can lead the photo to look "flat" and one-dimensional. The goal is to create depth ad interest in a photograph, and aving a variety of colours that compliment each other is more visually engaging to the eye.
